Isard Haasakker
Who is Isard Haasakker?
An independent SAP consultant with 30 years of SAP experience, mostly hands-on delivery on SAP ECC and S/4HANA, both functional and technical. He is Director of No Tie Generation Limited, based in Camberley, Surrey, in the United Kingdom, and known as the SAP Detective: "SAP Detective. Cutting through your mysteries."
He is the author of the SAP SOAP detective novels and of the 2016 book "Make F.I.T. Your Purpose", and the creator of FIT 4 SAP, through which he brings 30 years on the floor to the boardroom as an independent adviser. He rents SAP systems via his No Tie Generation company to test whether an idea works before he recommends it. Dutch, living in the UK, speaking English and Dutch.
What is Isard's SAP background?
In IT since 1994, in SAP since 1997, self-employed since 2000. Director of No Tie Generation Limited since 2006, the year he emigrated to the UK. A hybrid consultant who can design and build a working solution alone, functional and technical.
- Process areas: order to cash and procure to pay, with the finance integration around them.
- SAP areas: SD, MM, WM, LE, PM, FI, CO, PS, S/4HANA sales and self-service procurement, BRF+, data migration (LSMW and the S/4HANA ‘Migrate Your Data’ Cockpit) and governance.
- Technical: object-oriented ABAP, EDI, BAPIs, BAdIs, and Fiori development with CDS views and the ABAP RESTful programming model.
Greenfield implementations, rollouts and support, on ECC and S/4HANA. BRF+ is his bridge between functional and technical work.
Which industries and countries has Isard worked in?
Industries: manufacturing, fast-moving consumer goods, food, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, oil, retail, healthcare and the public sector. Countries: the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Sweden, Poland, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates.
Client names are not shared. That file stays sealed.
Why is Isard called the SAP Detective?
Because after 30 years in SAP landscapes, he found he was mapping patterns more than solving incidents. The same problems recur across industries and countries because many processes and complexities are shared.
He is drawn to the odd assignments: inherited systems, orphaned logic, end-to-end processes that just work until they don't. Turn chaos into clarity. Take the challenge of a puzzle and solve it. The ones where people say: "We don't even know where to start." A detective separates evidence from hunch and keeps asking until the story holds. So does a good SAP consultant.
Why does Isard rent his own SAP systems?
To satisfy his curiosity, as he always wants to expand his knowledge. Also, to test whether an idea works before recommending it. He builds fictional companies, In-House Secure and Sapura Cosmetics, in his own rented S/4HANA systems and checks what standard SAP can really do. It is how he avoids having to ‘learn on the job’, and it is why his recommendations come from a working system, not a slide.
What does Isard think goes wrong on S/4HANA programmes?
Many S/4HANA programmes don't fail at go-live. They fail much earlier: assumptions quietly hard-code themselves into the design, and by the time problems surface, momentum makes them expensive to undo.
Even a system that started with a clean sheet drifts. After many years, when it is time to replace it, nobody can fully explain how it should work. Clarity is missing, and that is the moment he is interested in. If you suspect that "it’s fine" is not true while the reports stay green, that instinct is worth more than the dashboard.
What is No Tie Generation?
No Tie Generation Limited is Isard's company, registered in England and Wales (company number 05871516) and based in Camberley, Surrey. Its logo shows Isard cutting off his necktie: no tie, no ego, no excuses. Its main website is https://notiegeneration.com/.
How do I contact the real Isard?
On LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/isardhaasakker/
That is the route for anything about your own situation: whether something fits your organisation, how to approach it in your system, availability, or working together. AI Isard explains the why, what, when and where; the which and how for your own case belong with the real Isard.
Have you worked at board level?
Not as a board member. Isard has spent 30 years where board decisions land: in the warehouse, in data cleansing and migration, in custom code maintenance and on the go-live weekend. That is where he learnt what a decision made upstairs really costs downstairs.
FIT 4 SAP is how he brings that to the boardroom, as an independent adviser before a programme starts. It is a new offer, so there are no completed FIT 4 SAP engagements to point to yet. What a board gets is someone fluent in both languages: what the floor knows, said in terms a board can decide on.
How it all fits together
How do FIT 4 SAP, SAP SOAP and BRF+ fit together?
They look like three different things. They are one way of thinking: find the patterns early, recognise them, and solve what can be solved.
- FIT 4 SAP finds the patterns before a major S/4HANA commitment: a 30-day proof of concept that surfaces reality before you sign, not after.
- SAP SOAP helps you recognise them: detective novels that put you in the room while the mysteries unravel, so you spot the same pattern in your own project.
- BRF+ solves one of the most stubborn ones: business rules buried in custom code that nobody dares touch.
Underneath sits the ‘FAST Implementation Track’: five principles on top of any delivery method.
What is the common thread across the sites?
Decisions and truths that live where nobody can see them. In shared spreadsheets, where nobody owns the data. In custom code, where one person owns the logic. In email threads, where a question never becomes a ticket. In process maps that describe a business where theory and reality clash.
Every site makes the invisible visible, at a different moment. FIT 4 SAP does it before the Statement of Work is signed. BRF+ does it for the business rules inside the system. SAP SOAP does it in fiction, so you can recognise it without anyone having to admit anything first.
Where do I start with my SAP problem?
Start with the problem, not the product.
- About to sign a Statement of Work for S/4HANA, and unsure whether your most important process fits standard: FIT 4 SAP, https://isard.ai/fit-4-sap/
- Business rules tangled in custom code, changing all the time, or living in spreadsheets: BRF+, https://isard.ai/brf-plus/
- A data migration, a custom code base or an end-to-end process that keeps going wrong, and you want to recognise the pattern: SAP SOAP, https://isard.ai/sap-soap/
- Not sure, or something else: describe it, and AI Isard will point you to the right room. Whether it fits your organisation is a question for the real Isard on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/isardhaasakker/
What do detective novels have to do with S/4HANA?
Fiction does something consultancy can't: it names the thing without requiring anyone to admit it first. In the SAP SOAP novels, governance failures become murder weapons, not for drama but for recognition.
The SAP inside them is real: data migration with the Migrate Your Data app, custom code that one person owns, and the intercompany process with EU triangulation. The companies and people are invented. A reader who has lived through the same pattern recognises it, and that recognition is where change starts. More in the SAP SOAP room: https://isard.ai/sap-soap/
Why does BRF+ matter before a move to S/4HANA?
Because a transformation has to confront years of custom development, and some of it is business decisions that never needed to be bespoke code. BRF+ is available in ECC, so suitable rules can move out of custom code before the S/4HANA programme starts. That improves ECC today and shrinks what the transformation has to understand and carry later.
It is the same idea as FIT 4 SAP: find out what you are carrying before the commitment, not during it. More in the BRF+ room: https://isard.ai/brf-plus/
Why does BRF+ turn up in the novels too?
Because each SAP SOAP case is about a decision living in the wrong place, and BRF+ is SAP's standard tool for putting decisions somewhere visible. In ‘Death by Spreadsheet’ it puts cleansing rules on migration data; in ‘Death by Workaround’ it takes business rules out of layers of ABAP. In ‘Death by Email’, it checks at every save that the documents in an intercompany chain agree with each other, because a consistent chain is the evidence an auditor needs.
What is the FAST Implementation Track?
The FAST Implementation Track is a set of five principles that sits on top of any delivery method: SAP Activate, PRINCE2, SAFe, ITIL, agile or waterfall. It does not replace them. These principles are verbs: Focus, Communicate, Simplify, Commit, Educate. The objective is preventing avoidable problems, not speed.
The word ‘FAST’ in the ‘FAST Implementation Track’ refers to ‘Focus And Simplify Transformation’.
FIT 4 SAP is an example of how to apply the FAST Implementation Track to S/4HANA.
The book ‘Make F.I.T. Your Purpose’ was written by Isard in 2016, and is the FAST Implementation Track origin story: https://makefityourpurpose.com
How do the five FIT principles show up across the sites?
- Focus and Commit: FIT 4 SAP, one critical scenario tested before the Statement of Work is signed.
- Simplify: BRF+, business rules moved out of custom code into rules people can read, test and change.
- Educate: SAP SOAP, real SAP problems told as stories.
- Communicate runs through all of them: plain language, evidence instead of optimism, and decisions with a name attached.
What is isard.ai?
The front desk of the No Tie Generation ecosystem. It has a room for each subject, FIT 4 SAP, BRF+ and SAP SOAP, plus this home page for how they connect. In each room AI Isard answers questions from Isard's own material. The full stories live on the sister sites: https://fit4sap.com/ for FIT 4 SAP, https://brf.plus/ for BRF+, and https://sapsoap.com/ for SAP SOAP.
Working with Isard
Why does Isard have so many websites?
Because one site for everyone would serve nobody well. Thirty years of SAP work, and a habit of following curiosity well outside his comfort zone, have given Isard depth in several distinct fields. Each site shows that depth to the audience that needs it.
- fit4sap.com: for business leaders facing a consequential S/4HANA commitment.
- brf.plus: for functional and technical consultants, and anyone responsible for business decisions buried inside a system.
- sapsoap.com: for anyone who works on or around SAP projects and wants to recognise the patterns.
- isard.ai: the conversational front door to all of them.
Different doors, one way of thinking: make visible what is hard to see.
What happens if a client ignores Isard's findings?
Let’s take FIT 4 SAP as an example.
At the end of the 30 days, the investigation still did its job. Isard investigates, explains the evidence and presents his conclusions. The client decides what to do with them. He does not tell a board to abandon its SAP business transformation, or change their implementation partner. A client choosing a different course is not a failure, provided the investigation was done properly and the findings were clear.
After the agreed work, he steps away. FIT 4 SAP has no built-in follow-on role and no engineered dependence. Anything after it is a separate conversation. The same spirit runs through the rest of the ecosystem: BRF+ is an option worth knowing about, not a mandatory answer, and the novels invite recognition, not agreement.

Can I work with Isard on something that isn't FIT 4 SAP?
He is open to it. FIT 4 SAP is one example of the type of challenge Isard enjoys, not the only shape it can take, and he is curious what else people have in mind. What tends to matter to him:
- a clear purpose and a finish line
- freedom to investigate and to report honestly, including the findings nobody hoped for
- access to the people and evidence needed to see what is really happening
- a challenge worth the effort, with room to learn
- a clean exit once the work is done
His own shorthand: always curious, investigate independently, make the invisible visible, leave the decision with the client, move on. If your idea fits that shape, message him on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/isardhaasakker/
Please keep the sensitive details of your request out of this chat. Conversations are logged to improve the answers.
Can Isard advise us during the programme?
FIT 4 SAP itself ends before the Statement of Work is signed, and it does not turn into a follow-on contract by default. That keeps the findings independent of whatever comes next.
Advising during a programme is a different conversation, and one Isard is open to. What tends to matter to him: a clear purpose, freedom to report honestly, access to the people and the evidence, and a clean exit. Whether it fits your programme is one for the real Isard: https://www.linkedin.com/in/isardhaasakker/
Why does Isard give so much away for free?
Because useful knowledge should help people think, whether or not they ever become clients. Isard has no appetite for high-pressure selling or manufactured urgency. The white papers, the novels and this chat explain the why, what, when and where generously, and that is deliberate, not a teaser.
What stays with the real Isard is applying judgement to one specific organisation: which option fits, and how to do it in that system. That boundary protects quality and independence. It does not make the free material shallow.
Names and terms
What do FIT, FAST and FIT 4 SAP stand for?
- FIT stands for ‘FAST Implementation Track’. FAST Implementation Track is a registered trademark.
- FAST stands for ‘Focus And Simplify Transformation’.
- So spelled out in full, FIT is the Focus And Simplify Transformation Implementation Track. Nobody says that, which is why the acronyms exist. FIT is the method; FAST is what it aims for.
- FIT 4 SAP is FIT applied to SAP S/4HANA. The shared name is deliberate.
What are the sister sites?
- fit4sap.com: FIT 4 SAP, the 30-Day Proof of Concept before your S/4HANA transformation. "See where it breaks before you sign."
- brf.plus: SAP BRF+. Take your business rules out of custom code. "Solve any problem. Start small. Bring me one rule." It covers ECC and S/4HANA on-premise and private cloud. BRF+ is not available in the public cloud.
- sapsoap.com: SAP SOAP, detective novels set inside SAP projects. "If it makes sense, make it happen."
- isard.ai: this site, the front desk, with AI Isard.
Boundaries
Are Sapura Cosmetics and In-House Secure real companies?
No. Both are fictional companies Isard uses to prototype ideas in his own rented SAP systems. Sapura Cosmetics, built on one flagship sapwood soap bar, is the setting of the SAP SOAP novels. In-House Secure, a European security technology firm, is the reference company for FIT 4 SAP examples. Neither is a client, and neither exists. The problems they run into are another matter.
Can I see references or case studies for FIT 4 SAP?
Not yet. FIT 4 SAP is a new offer, and there are no completed FIT 4 SAP engagements to point to. What stands behind it: 30 years of hands-on SAP delivery in ten countries, and principles that have guided Isard's work since his 2016 book ‘Make F.I.T. Your Purpose’. The proof of concept is designed to be checkable rather than taken on trust: one scenario, thirty days, and a Scar Log built on direct quotes from your own people.
Does isard.ai use cookies or keep my data?
The chat keeps a log of each question and answer, with the country you’re in (from your IP address, which isn’t kept), so the answers can get better. It uses no cookies, doesn’t recognise you on your next visit, and conversations are deleted after six months. Email addresses, phone numbers and bank account numbers are replaced by placeholders before anything is stored.
The site sets no cookies of its own and uses no advertising cookies. GoDaddy, which hosts it on servers in Europe, adds its own monitoring script that sets three cookies for its traffic monitoring. The site works the same if you block them. The full details are on the privacy page: https://isard.ai/privacy/
